Dr. David Winarski grew up just outside of Washington D.C., enlisted in the US Army shortly after high school graduation, and was
honorably discharged in 1994. Dr. David attended Northampton Community College
where he studied radiology and graduated with honors. He worked for two years
in a Level One trauma hospital with the goal of becoming a trauma surgeon.
During his studies of the human body he learned about the phenomenon of
homeostasis – the natural balance the body strives to maintain – and became fascinated
with human physiology, the study of how the body works.
One of Dr. David’s instructors was a doctor of chiropractic and introduced him to the chiropractic philosophy.
“I had no idea how much the chiropractic philosophy was just like my own, it just made so much more sense to me than what I had seen in the hospital everyday.” - Dr. David
So much that on the basis of the conversations with his instructor and his research into chiropractic Dr. David – then just David – packed his bags and headed to Davenport, Iowa to attend the founding school of chiropractic, Palmer College.
While attending Palmer Dr. David was very active in many clubs and organizations and taught students in radiology, anatomy, diagnosis, and clinical skills application with a specialty in pediatrics and pregnancy. Early in his career Dr. David became very interested and involved with wellness and with pediatrics work. As soon as he could he began a 3-year post-doctoral study in pediatrics and pregnancy care from the International Chiropractic Pediatrics Association (ICPA). Having just recently completed the academic portions of that program Dr. David is very excited to enter into the research phase now.
Dr. David is an enthusiastic runner and enjoys hiking, and being outdoors but by far his favorite thing to do is to spend time with his wife Dr. Kelli and their newborn son Samuel.
“Chiropractic has given me so much, my life’s work, my wife, my son, and has lead me to Columbia – the best place to live. Now it is time for me to give back by fulfilling the chiropractic mission – to bring true wellness to my community.” -Dr. David
Dr. David & Dr. Kelli met and were married while attending Palmer. Both graduated with honors and this spring they proudly welcomed their first child Samuel into this world in a home water birth with an educated, experienced midwife.
Dr. David and Dr. Kelli were drawn to Columbia because of the general health consciousness and genuine friendliness of the community each time they visited. They are excited to get involved in their community and are already active in the Columbia Chamber of Commerce.
Dr. David and Dr. Kelli have been freeing people from pain in the clinic in Columbia, MO and helping them to experience wellness. They are committed to promoting optimal health and well being of patients.
Dr. David and Dr. Kelli use a "whole person approach". This approach to wellness means looking for underlying causes of any disturbance or disruption (which may or may not be causing symptoms at the time) and make whatever interventions and lifestyle adjustments that would optimize the conditions for normal function. Using this unique approach, Dr. David and Dr. Kelli are able to help you to accelerate and/or maintain your journey to good health.
