At family first chiropractic, there is not a one size fits all method of adjusting. Our doctors have multiple techniques to correct your problem. Techniques utilized may be a combination of adjustments done by hand, or with the assistance of hand-held instruments, tables utilizing a dropping mechanism or traction. Traction helps to bring blood flow and healing to the area and opens up your joints so that you get a nice smooth adjustment every time.
Spinal adjustments help to restore normal mobility and range of motion, take pressure off your nerves so that your body has 100% ability to heal itself, relieve pain and discomfort, and may help prevent your condition from worsening over time
Our office utilizes digital x-rays to assess your spine not only while you are standing still, but also while you are moving through range of motion. From this series of images, your chiropractor will be able to assess what’s working and what’s not working in your spine and determine the exact location and cause of your injury. Areas that are not moving are called subluxations. Based on this information, your chiropractor will determine a personalized care plan to get your problem corrected as much as possible, not merely make it feel better for a short time.
Motion x-rays are a diagnostic tool for many health problems, from chronic back and neck pain to sports injuries or acute whiplash injuries.
Spinal Remodeling (Posture Correction)
Every baby begins the process of building curves of the spine during the all-important Tummy Time. Many however, will lose the proper curves due to developmental delay, inactivity, injury, too much screen time, sitting at a desk, poor posture, or another reason. The average teenager will spend 8-10 hours per day on a tablet or device. The neck becomes straight and their neck is essentially losing the battle against gravity to hold the head upright. A proper cervical curve is one of the greatest biomarkers for health. When the neck becomes straight, this increases the sympathetic stress response and reduces vital signs by up to 35%!
Fortunately, through chiropractic care, therapies and home exercises a curve can be retrained and reinforced.
